Oven: 350F
Ingredients:
11/3 c. soft shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
21 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3melted butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
In a large bowl, mix 1 until creamy. Combine 2 in a smaller bowl. Gradually mix 2 into 1. Pour into regular muffin tins, fill each cup about 2/3 of the way. Bake approximately 20-25 minutes on the middle shelf, or until cooked through. While baking, combine sugar and cinnamon in one bowl, and melt butter into another. When the pastry puffs are done cooking, let cool for 2-3 minutes and remove from pan. With a brush, coat the puffs with melted butter, and then coat them with the cinnamon sugar. Serve warm.
