- 4 egg yolks
- 1/2 c sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 1/2 c milk
- 1/2 tbsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Whisk egg yolks, sugar, flour together
- Heat milk until low boil
- Slowly pour milk into egg mixture, whisking constantly
- Return to sauce pan and bring to boil, whisking constantly
- Cook for 1-2 min, whisking constantly (should get thick enough to coat back of spatula)
- Take off heat, whisk in vanilla, butter, salt
- Place in container and cover with plastic wrap touching the top of the custard to prevent skin from forming
- Cool in fridge

- Thaw and roll out sheet of puff pastry lengthwise
- Spread thin layer of custard
- Sprinkle with chocolate chips
- Fold in half
- Cut into 2 inch pieces
- Twist and place on parchment covered baking sheet
- Brush with egg wash
- Bake for 15-20 min, until golden
