- 8 tbsp salted butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 c white sugar (or raw cane sugar)
- 1/4 c packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 c all purpose flour (more as needed)
- 3/4 c chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350 f
- Microwave butter ~40sec (until mostly melted but not hot)
- Beat butter with sugars until creamy
- Add vanilla and egg, beat until just incorporated (too long and cookies will be stiff)
- Add flour, baking soda, and salt. mix until crumbles form, use hands to press crumbles together into dough (right at stage between wet/dry dough)
- Add chocolate chips, incorporate with hands
- Roll into large balls and place on cookies sheet
- Bake 9-11 min until cookies look puffy and dry and just barely golden (do not overbake)
- Let cool 30 min
