- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 c chopped carrots
- 1 c chopped celery
- 2 potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 lb dried split peas
- 10 c water
- 1 lb smoked sausage
- 5 chicken bouillon (or more, whatever)
- 2 bay leaves
- Dice some of the carrots, celery, and onion, cook in oil/butter until fragrant
- Rinse split peas
- Add seasonings to soup starter
- Add potatoes and other large veggies to soup starter, stir a bit
- Add water, chicken stock, bay leaves, cover
- Simmer for several hours (~3?)
